Why Early November Is a Good Time to Clear Space
The Augusta-area forecast is calm for now, but WFXG meteorologists are watching for the first potential frost around November 14 and 15. Comfortable weekends for outdoor work are running out, and the holidays are close behind.
That makes the next two or three weekends the natural window to pull things out of the garage, shed and spare room, so there is room for guests, decorations and the cars that usually live in the garage.

Dumpster Trailer or the County Drop-Off Site?
Aiken County runs drop-off sites for household garbage, recyclables and yard debris, free to county residents. The City of Aiken lists them as closed on Sundays and on holidays including Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, and the state's listing shows the staffed county centers, including Graniteville, closed Wednesdays too. For a few bags that works well. For a whole garage of furniture, lumber and boxes, a dumpster at your own house lets you load whenever you have time, with no repeat trips.

A Simple Three-Weekend Plan
- This weekend: walk the garage, shed and spare room. Sort into keep, donate and dumpster. Book your delivery date.
- Next weekend (around Nov 14 to 15): delivery day. Load heavy items first and keep debris below the side boards. Do the yard while it is still comfortable outside.
- The weekend before Thanksgiving: finish loading and call us for pickup, or ask about a weekday swap (base rate minus 10%).
