A Quick Guide to What’s Okay — and What’s Not
Know Before You Load
To keep your rental safe, simple, and compliant, please review this list before filling your dumpster. All of these guidelines are also covered in your rental agreement, but here’s a quick breakdown to make things easy.
Items You Can Throw In
These are generally safe and acceptable in your dumpster:
- Household junk (furniture, toys, clothing, general clutter)
- Construction debris (drywall, wood, flooring, non-hazardous materials)
- Yard debris (branches, shrubs, leaves)
- Small appliances (without Freon)
- Roofing materials (shingles, underlayment, nails, etc.)
- Mattresses and box springs (additional fee may apply)
Items You Cannot Throw In
For safety, legal, and environmental reasons, these items are not allowed:
- Paint, solvents, or chemical containers (full or partially full)
- Batteries (car, lithium-ion, or rechargeable)
- Tires or auto parts
- Refrigerators, freezers, or AC units (check with us)
- Hazardous materials (asbestos, fuel, pesticides, propane tanks)
- Medical waste or biohazard materials
- Liquids of any kind (oil, gas, or water-based)
- Electronics in large quantities (TVs, monitors — check with us first)
